| Self-introduction : Hi! I’m Larry and from Toronto, Canada. You’re looking at my picture and you’re thinking to yourself, “No, he’s not Canadian. He’s Japanese.” Well, you’re 1/2 right. I’m Japanese-Canadian. Both my parents are Japanese but I grew up and I was educated in Canada. I graduated with a degree in Math for Commerce. While I was in university, I also studied Japanese for 5 years so I know all the struggles you are going through right now as an individual trying to master a second language. こんにちは、カナダのトロントからきましたラリーと申します。私の写真を見て、この人はカナダ人ではなくて日本人だと思っていることでしょう。そう、半分は正解です。わたしは日系カナダ人です。両親とも日本人ですが、カナダで育ち、教育を受け、カナダの大学で経済学を学びました。また、大学時代は5年間日本語についても学びましたので、皆さんが第2外国語を学んでいく際の難しさも経験しました。 As they say, “Been there, done that.” I’d like to help you improve your English in a fun way. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes when speaking English…’cause even native speakers make mistakes. I am bilingual and bicultural so if need be, you can say the word in Japanese…but don’t make it a habit! 皆さんの英語力を楽しく上達させたいと思っております。英語を話すときは、間違えを恐れずに・・・。なぜって英語のネイティブスピーカーでさえ間違えるんですよ。私は英語と日本語のバイリンガル・バイカルチャーですので、必要であれば日本語を通しての質問なども可能ですが、習慣にはならないようにしましょうね!! A characteristic of my lesson :Productive and fun Hobby: Football, Movies, CookingCatch phrase: Don’t be shy. If you don’t try, you will never know you’re right. That’s when the fun begins. |
